DESCRIPTION
Butofan (Butofan) - solution for injection to stimulate metabolism and nonspecific resistance in animals. In appearance, the drug is a transparent liquid from pink to pink-red color.
COMPOSITION
1 ml of Butofan contains 100 mg of butafosfan and 0.05 mg of cyanocobalamin as active ingredients, as well as auxiliary components: methyl 4-hydroxybenzoate - 1 mg and water for injection - up to 1 ml.
PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES
Butofan refers to drugs that regulate metabolic processes in the body, as well as complex fortifying and tonic drugs, normalizes metabolic and regenerative processes, has a stimulating effect on protein, carbohydrate and fat metabolism, increases the body's resistance to adverse environmental factors, promotes growth and development of young animals.
The drug butaphosphan, which is part of the composition, helps to improve liver function, stimulates the conversion of ADP into ATP, increases the motor activity of smooth muscles, and stimulates the formation of bone tissue.
Vitamin B12 activates the processes of hematopoiesis, the synthesis of nucleic acids, restores the level of suppressor lymphocytes to normal, participates in the synthesis of methionine, promotes the formation of glycogen, and mobilizes the energy reserves necessary for the formation of deoxyribose and DNA synthesis.
According to the degree of impact on the body, Butophan belongs to low-hazard substances (hazard class 4 according to GOST 12.1.007-76), in the recommended doses it does not have a local irritant, sensitizing, embryotoxic, teratogenic, mutagenic and carcinogenic effect, does not have cumulative properties.
DOSAGE AND APPLICATION
Butofan is prescribed to large and small ruminants, horses, pigs, dogs, cats, fur animals and poultry for metabolic disorders of various ethnology, as well as a stimulating and tonic agent: to increase the body's resistance to diseases of various etiologies; as an additional tool in the treatment of diseases caused by a lack of calcium and magnesium in the body; in order to activate labor and prevent postpartum complications (tetany of the uterus, maternity paresis); with heavy physical exertion and increased physical activity in sports horses (2-3 days before the competition).
Butofan is used for cattle and small ruminants, horses, pigs, dogs, cats and fur animals once a day intramuscularly, subcutaneously or intravenously (slowly), for birds - orally with water for drinking for 4-5 days in a row, in single doses, indicated in the table:

In the chronic course of the disease, 1/2 dose of Butofan is prescribed, indicated in the table.
A repeated course of treatment, if necessary, is carried out at intervals of 5-14 days.
SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS
Symptoms arising from an overdose of the drug have not been established in animals.
The peculiarities of the action of the drug during the first application or upon its withdrawal were not revealed.
If one or more doses of the drug are missed, its use is resumed according to the same scheme in accordance with this instruction. You should not enter a double dose to compensate for the missed dose.
Butofan is compatible with other pharmaceuticals and feed additives used in livestock and poultry farming.
The slaughter of animals for meat and the use of meat products, milk and eggs for food purposes during and after the use of Butofan is permitted without restrictions.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
A contraindication to the use of Butofan is the increased individual sensitivity of the animal to the components of the drug.
SIDE EFFECTS
When using Butofan according to this instruction, there were no side effects and complications in animals, including poultry. In case of allergic reactions, the use of the drug is stopped and antihistamines are prescribed and, if necessary, symptomatic treatment.
SHELF LIFE AND STORAGE
Store in closed manufacturer's packaging in a dark, dry place, separate from food and feed, at a temperature of 5 to 25 В° C.
Shelf life, subject to storage conditions - 5 years from the date of production, after opening the bottle - 28 days.
PACKAGING
The drug is released in the form of a sterile solution, packaged in 100 ml glass bottles.
The vials are sealed with rubber stoppers and rolled with aluminum caps.
