pharmachologic effect
Mucolytic drug.
The action of the drug is due to the activation of sialic transferase - an enzyme of the goblet cells of the bronchial mucosa.
Normalizes the quantitative ratio of acidic and neutral sialomucins of bronchial secretions, restores the viscosity and elasticity of mucus.
Promotes regeneration of the mucous membrane, normalizes its structure, activates the activity of the ciliated epithelium.
Restores the secretion of immunologically active IgA (specific protection) and the amount of sulfhydryl groups of mucus components (non-specific protection), improves mucociliary clearance.
Indications

Method of administration and dosage
Inside.
For the dosage of the syrup, a 5 ml measuring spoon is used, graduated to 2.5 ml.
1 scoop of 5% syrup (5 ml) = 250 mg carbocisteine 1 scoop of 2.5% syrup (5 ml) = 125 mg carbocysteine.
Adults - 15 ml (3 scoops) of 5% syrup 3 times a day.
Children aged 3–6 years - 5 ml (1 measuring spoon) 2.5% syrup 2–4 times a day.
Children over 6 years old - 5-10 ml (1-2 measuring spoons) 2.5% syrup 3 times a day.
Side effects
From the gastrointestinal tract: sometimes there is nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and epigastric pain, gastrointestinal bleeding.
Hypersensitivity reaction: there have been isolated cases of allergic reactions (itching, urticaria, exanthema, angioedema).
Others: dizziness, weakness, malaise.
In patients with bronchial asthma and elderly patients, airway obstruction may occur.
Drug interactions
Increases the effectiveness of glucocorticoid (mutually) and antibacterial therapy of infectious and inflammatory diseases of the upper and lower respiratory tract.
Potentiates the bronchodilator effect of theophylline.
The activity of carbocisteine is weakened by antitussives and atropine-like drugs.
Due to the alcohol content, Bronchobos is prescribed with caution with the following drugs: drugs that cause adverse reactions (fever, redness, vomiting, tachycardia), when taken simultaneously with alcoholic beverages: disulfiram, cefamandol, cefoperazone, latamoxef (cephalosporin antibiotics), chloramphenicol antibes
