Pharmacological action
A drug that improves the microcirculation of the labyrinth, used in the pathology of the vestibular apparatus. Betagistin acts mainly on the histamine H1 and H3 receptors of the inner ear and vestibular nuclei of the central nervous system.
By direct agonistic action on the histamine H1 receptors of the vessels of the inner ear, and also indirectly through exposure to histamine H3 receptors improves microcirculation and capillary permeability, normalizes endolymph pressure in the labyrinth and cochlea. However, betahistine increases blood flow in the basilar artery.
Has a pronounced central effect, being an inhibitor of histamine H3 receptors of the vestibular nerve nuclei. Normalizes conduction in neurons inestibular nuclei at the level of the brain stem.

1 tablet contains Active ingredient: betahistine dihydrochloride 24.0 mg Excipients: microcrystalline cellulose - 64.25 mg, povidone (collidone 25) - 27.0 mg potato starch - 60.0 mg, citric acid - 6, 0 mg, colloidal silicon dioxide (Aerosil), - 9.0 mg, talc - / 8.4 mg, magnesium stearate - / 1.35 mg.
Dosage and Administration
Inside, with meals. 24 mg tablets: 1 tablet 2 times a day. Improvement is usually noted already at the beginning of therapy, a stable therapeutic effect occurs after two weeks of treatment and can increase over several months of treatment. The treatment is long. The duration of treatment is determined individually.
Side effects
Gastrointestinal upset. the appearance of hypersensitivity reactions from the skin (rash, itching, urticaria), Quincke's edema.
Overdose
Symptoms: nausea, vomiting, convulsions.
