Local contraception for women of reproductive age:

Active ingredient: myristalconium chloride (benzalkonium chloride C14) - 18.9 mg
Excipients: solid fat (Witepsol (grades H 15, W 35), Supposir (grades NA 15, NAS 50)) - until a suppository weighing 1.75 g is obtained.

pharmachologic effect
Contraceptive preparation for topical use. It has a spermicidal effect, as well as antiseptic, antifungal, antiprotozoal action, inactivates the Herpes simplex virus.
The drug is active against gram-positive bacteria (including Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus spp.); gram-negative bacteria (including Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Proteus spp., Klebsiella spp.); anaerobic bacteria, fungi and molds .
Also active against bacterial strains resistant to antibiotics and other chemotherapeutic drugs; inhibits plasmacoagulase and hyaluronidase of staphylococci.
The spermatocidal effect of the drug is due to the ability to damage the membranes of spermatozoa (at the beginning of the flagella, then the head), which makes it impossible to fertilize the egg with a damaged sperm. The effect develops 5 minutes after the introduction of the vaginal suppository.
Shows activity in the prevention of sexually transmitted diseases (including gonorrhea, chlamydia, trichomoniasis). Does not affect the normal microflora of the vagina (including Dederlein's bacillus) and the hormonal cycle.
Pharmacokinetics
The drug is practically not absorbed after intravaginal administration, it is removed by simple washing with water and with normal physiological secretions.

After intercourse, intravaginal use of hygiene products (douching with soapy water, since soap destroys the active substance of the drug) is not recommended in order to avoid loss of the contraceptive effect; an external genital toilet is possible.

Drug interactions
Any drug administered intravaginally can reduce the local spermicidal effect (including soap and solutions containing it).
Iodine solutions (including 0.1% iodonate solution) inactivate the drug.
Storage conditions
The drug should be stored out of the reach of children, in a dry, dark place at a temperature not exceeding 20 ? C.
