Characteristics:
Bearberry leaves contain phenologlycosides, arbutin, methylarbutin, hydroquinone, tannins, flavonoids and other biologically active substances.
Description:
Pieces of leaves of various shapes. Color from light green to dark green with brownish-green, light brown, brown, rarely purple and yellowish-white blotches. There is no smell. The taste of the aqueous extract is highly astringent, bitter.

Herbal diuretic.
Pharmachologic effect:
A decoction of bearberry leaves has anti-inflammatory, diuretic, antiseptic effects.
Indications for use:
In the complex therapy of inflammatory diseases of the bladder and urinary tract (cystitis, urethritis).
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to the drug, acute renal failure, acute glomerulonephritis, pregnancy, lactation, children under 12 years of age.
Method of administration and dosage:
About 9 g (1 tablespoon) of bearberry leaves are placed in an enamel bowl, 200 ml (1 glass) of hot boiled water is poured, covered with a lid, heated in a boiling water bath with periodic stirring for 30 minutes, filtered without cooling, the remaining raw materials are squeezed ... The volume of the resulting broth is brought to 200 ml with boiled water.
It is taken orally in a warm form, 1 tablespoon 3-5 times a day, 40 minutes after meals. The course of treatment is 20-25 days. It is possible to repeat the course after a 10-12-day break, but no more than 4 courses per year.
It is recommended to shake the broth before use.
Side effect
When taking large doses of bearberry preparations or with their prolonged use, there may be an exacerbation of inflammatory kidney diseases as a result of prolonged irritation of the renal tubules.
Allergic reactions, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, dark green urine are possible.
