Baytril Max 10% 100ml
DESCRIPTION
Baytril Max 10% is an injection solution for the treatment of bacterial bronchopneumonia in pigs caused by bacteria sensitive to enrofloxacin. The drug is a sterile clear solution of light yellow color.
COMPOSITION
1ml of injection solution contains 100mg of enrofloxacin as an active ingredient, L-arginine and water for injection as an auxiliary substance.
PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES
Enrofloxacin, which is part of the drug, belongs to the group of fluoroquinolones, has a wide spectrum of antibacterial and antimycoplasmic action, inhibits the growth and development of gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, including Escherichia, hemophilus, Salmonella, Pasteurella, Staphylococcus, Streptococcus, Streptococcus bordetella, campylobacter, corynebacterium, proteus, and also mycoplasma. The mechanism of action of enrofloxacin is to inhibit the activity of the enzyme gyrase, which affects the replication of the DNA helix in the nucleus of a bacterial cell. When administered parenterally, enrofloxacin is well and quickly absorbed from the injection site and penetrates into all organs and tissues of the body. The maximum concentration of enrofloxacin in the blood is reached after 20-40 minutes,
Baytril Max 10% solution for injection according to the degree of effect on the body refers to moderately hazardous substances, in recommended doses it is well tolerated by animals, does not have embryotoxic, teratogenic and hepatotoxic effects. Enrofloxacin is excreted from the body mainly unchanged, partially metabolized to ciprofloxacin and excreted in urine and feces.
INDICATIONS
Assign to cattle and pigs with a therapeutic purpose for infections of the respiratory system, gastrointestinal tract, genitourinary system, septicemia, colibacillosis, salmonellosis, streptococcosis, bacterial and enzootic pneumonia, atrophic rhinitis, mastitis-metritis-agalactia syndrome, caused by sensitive to fluoroquinolones, as well as mixed and secondary infections in viral diseases.
APPLICATION
Baytril Max is administered once, subcutaneously to cattle, subcutaneously or intramuscularly to pigs at a dose of 7.5 ml per 100 kg of animal weight (7.5 mg of enrofloxacin per 1 kg of weight). The drug should be administered in an amount of no more than 15 ml in one place for cattle and no more than 5 ml for pigs.
SIDE EFFECTS
In some cases, a short-term dysfunction of the gastrointestinal tract is possible. Pigs may experience irritation at the injection site.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
Hypersensitivity to enrofloxacin and other quinolones. It is forbidden to prescribe to pregnant sows, in case of significant disorders in the development of cartilage tissue, lesions of the nervous system, accompanied by convulsions, as well as when microorganisms resistant to fluoroquinolones are isolated from a sick animal. The simultaneous use of Baytril Max with chloramphenicol, macrolides, tetracyclines, theophylline and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs is not allowed.
SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS
Slaughter of animals for meat is allowed 14 days after the last injection of the drug. Milk of dairy animals within 3 days after the last use of the drug is prohibited to use for food purposes, it can be used for feeding animals only after heat treatment. The meat of animals forced to be killed earlier than the established time can be used for feeding fur-bearing animals or for the production of meat and bone meal.
STORAGE
Store in a dry, dark place, out of reach of children and animals, at a temperature of 5 В° C to 25 В° C. The shelf life is 3 years. After opening the bottle, the drug can be used within 28 days.
