DESCRIPTION

Eye drops Bars (Guttae ophtalniicae Bars) - ophthalmic solution (eye drops) for the treatment and prevention of ophthalmic diseases of bacterial etiology in dogs, cats and rabbits. In appearance, the drug is a clear yellow-green liquid.

COMPOSITION

The drug contains chloramphenicol (chloramphenicol) - 0.25% as active ingredients, furacilin - 0.02%, as well as auxiliary components: benzalkonium chloride - 0.05% and water for injection - up to 100%.

PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES

Eye drops Bars belong to ophthalmic combined antibacterial drugs of a wide spectrum of action.

Levomycetin, which is part of the drug, is active against most gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms, some large viruses, acts on bacterial strains resistant to penicillin, streptomycin, sulfonamides. The mechanism of action of chloramphenicol is the ability to bind to the 50S subunit of bacterial ribosomes and inhibit protein synthesis in bacterial cells.

Furacilin has bacteriostatic and bactericidal action against a wide range of pathogenic gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms. The mechanism of action of furacilin consists in the formation of highly reactive amino derivatives that cause conformational changes in proteins (including ribosomal ones) and other macromolecules, leading to the death of microorganisms.

When installed into the conjunctival cavity, the drug easily penetrates into the tissues of the eye, providing a stable therapeutic level of active ingredients.

In terms of the degree of impact on the body, Bars drops are classified as low-hazard substances (hazard class 4 in accordance with GOST 12.1.007-76), in recommended doses they do not have a local irritant and resorptive-toxic effect.

DOSAGE AND APPLICATION

Bars eye drops are prescribed for dogs, cats and rabbits of decorative breeds for the treatment and prevention of acute and chronic conjunctivitis, keratitis, keratoconjunctivitis and blepharitis, as well as for the prevention of infectious eye diseases after trauma and foreign bodies.

Before using the drug, hygienic treatment of the eyes with a sterile gauze napkin moistened with the drug is preliminarily carried out in order to remove mucous, purulent, mucopurulent exudate. Then the drug is instilled into the conjunctival cavity 1-2 drops 3-4 times a day for 7-14 days.

If necessary, repeat the course of treatment.

For prophylactic purposes, hygienic treatment of the eyes is carried out once a day with a sterile gauze napkin moistened with the drug.

In order to prevent infection with eye injuries, drops are instilled into the conjunctival cavity at a dose of 3-4 drops 2-3 times a day for 1-2 days.

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS

Overdose symptoms have not been identified in animals.

The peculiarities of the action of the drug during the first use and withdrawal have not been established.

Avoid missing the use of the next dose of the drug, as this can lead to a decrease in therapeutic efficacy. If one or more doses are missed, the drug is resumed in the same dosage and according to the same scheme.

Bars eye drops are compatible with other medicines.

The drops are not intended for use in productive animals.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

A contraindication to the use of Bars drops is the individual hypersensitivity of the animal to the components of the drug.

SIDE EFFECTS

When using Leopard Eye Drops in accordance with this instruction, side effects and complications in animals, as a rule, are not observed. In case of increased individual sensitivity of the animal to the active components of the drug and the appearance of signs of pronounced irritation, the use of Bars eye drops is stopped.

SHELF LIFE AND STORAGE

Store eye drops Bars in the manufacturer's sealed packaging in a dry place protected from direct sunlight, separately from food and feed at a temperature of 5 В° C to 25 В° C.

The shelf life of the drug, subject to storage conditions in the manufacturer's closed packaging, is 2 years from the date of production. After opening, the bottle is stored in the refrigerator for no more than 30 days.

PACKAGING

The drug is produced in 10 ml packs in polymer bottles - droppers and glass bottles, sealed with rubber stoppers, reinforced with aluminum caps.

Vials are individually packed in cardboard boxes complete with instructions for use.
