Bacterial infections of the anterior part of the eye;
dacryocystitis;
prevention of infectious complications in the postoperative period after surgical interventions in the anterior part of the eye.
For the treatment of bacterial infections, 1 drop of the drug is instilled into the conjunctival sac 2-6 times / day.
The duration of treatment is 10 days. The doctor determines the expediency and necessity of extending the treatment period for more than 10 days. In the postoperative period, 1 drop is instilled 3-4 times / day. For the prevention of postoperative complications (preoperative preparation), 1-2 drops of the drug are instilled into the conjunctival sac immediately before surgery.
Eye drops in the form of a transparent, colorless or slightly yellowish solution.

* 5% excess of picloxidine dihydrochloride is allowed during the production of the drug.
Excipients: dextrose (glucose) anhydrous - 50 mg, polysorbate 80 - 0.25 mg, purified water - up to 1 ml.
Individual hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.
pharmachologic effect
Picloxidine is a biguanide derivative, antimicrobial agent, has an antiseptic effect. Active against Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus faecalis, Escherichia coli, Eberthella typhosa, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Proteus vulgaris, Shigella dysenteriae, Bacillus subtilis, Chlamydia trachomatis; some viruses and fungi.
Pharmacokinetics
When applied topically, the systemic absorption of picloxidine is low.
Side effect
The development of allergic reactions, manifested by conjunctival hyperemia, is possible.
Application during pregnancy and lactation
Since the use of the drug during pregnancy and during breastfeeding has not been studied, the drug is not recommended for pregnant and lactating women.
Application in children
The drug is prescribed for children from 0 years old.
special instructions
To prevent contamination of the drug solution during instillation, patients should avoid contact of the dropper tip with the eye and skin. To prevent the drug from entering the systemic circulation through the nasal mucosa, it is recommended to press with your fingers on the inner corner of the eye for 2 minutes after instillation. In the case of using several local ophthalmic drugs, the interval between instillations should be at least 15 minutes. Do not use Bactavit eye drops for subconjunctival injections or for injection into the anterior chamber of the eye. Eye drops Bactavit do not change the color of contact lenses (including soft hydrophilic ones), however, wearing contact lenses is contraindicated in case of infectious diseases.
Influence on the ability to drive vehicles and use mechanisms
After instillation, temporary blurred vision may occur, which may affect the ability to drive or work with equipment. If such symptoms appear after instillation, the patient should wait until clarity of vision is restored before driving or working with equipment.
Overdose
There are no data on drug overdose. In case of contact with the eyes, an excessive amount of the drug should be rinsed with a sterile saline solution.
Drug interactions
If it is necessary to instill several drugs into the conjunctival cavity, the drugs should be applied separately with an interval of at least 15 minutes.
