Aziflumin solution for injection 100ml
DESCRIPTION
Aziflumin (Aziflumin) is a veterinary drug used in pigs, cattle and dogs for therapeutic purposes in diseases of the respiratory system, gastrointestinal tract, genitourinary system, skin and soft tissues. In appearance, the drug is a clear solution from colorless to yellow.
COMPOSITION
1 ml contains azithromycin (in the form of a dihydrate) - 100 mg, flunixin meglumine 44 mg (equivalent to 26.5 mg flunixin) as active ingredients, as well as auxiliary substances: citric acid, propylene glycol and water for injection.
PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES
Aziflumin is an antibacterial drug of the macrolide group in combination.
Azithromycin, which is part of the drug, is an antibiotic of the macrolide group, a subgroup of azalides, with a broad spectrum of action, which has a bactericidal effect on gram-negative (Haemophilus spp., Moraxella spp, Bordetella spp., Campylobacter spp., Legionella pneumophila, Neisseria spp., Gardnerella vaginal vaginalis) gram-positive bacteria (Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus epidermidis, Streptococcus agalactiae, Streptococcus pneumoniae, Streptococcus pyogenes, Streptococcus groups C, F, G, Streptococcus viridans), except for erythromycin-resistant bacteria, and some anaerobic bacteria , Clostridium perfringens, Fusobacterium spp.), Pasteurella (Mannheimia) haemolytica, Pasteurella multocida, Haemophilus somnus, Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae, Haemophilus parasuis, mycoplasma (Mycoplasma pneumoniae), spirochetes (Treponema pallidum, Borrelia spp.), chlamydia (Chlamydia trachomatis, Chlamydia phneumoniae, Chlamydia psittaci).
The mechanism of action of azithromycin is associated with inhibition of protein biosynthesis by ribosomes of microorganisms, disruption of the formation of peptide bonds between amino acids and the peptide chain.
Azithromycin exhibits a postantibiotic effect - persistent inhibition of the vital activity of bacteria after their short-term contact with an antibacterial drug. The effect is based on irreversible changes in the ribosomes of the microorganism, resulting in a persistent block of translocation. Due to this, the general antibacterial effect of the drug is enhanced and prolonged, remaining during the period of resynthesis of new functional proteins of the microbial cell.
Azithromycin is well absorbed and rapidly distributed in body tissues, reaching high concentrations, many times higher than the concentration in blood plasma. High antimicrobial activity is also provided due to the ability of azithromycin to penetrate and accumulate intracellularly in leukocytes (granulocytes and monocytes / macrophages), with which it is transported to the foci of inflammation, as a result of which the concentration of the antibiotic is 6 times higher in the focus of inflammation compared to intact tissues. Azithromycin is slowly excreted from the body, which makes it possible to use it once a day and reduce the duration of the course of treatment to 5 days; in tissues, high concentrations of azithromycin persist for 5-7 days after the last application.
Flunixin meglumine, which is part of the drug, is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agent with a pronounced analgesic, antipyretic and anti-inflammatory effect. Flunixin is a non-selective inhibitor of cyclooxygenases (COX 1 and COX 2), which inhibits the production of prostaglandins and thromboxanes - mediators of inflammation and pain.
Flunixin meglumine is rapidly absorbed from the injection site and penetrates into most organs and tissues, reaching a maximum concentration in 5-45 minutes, accumulating in the inflammation focus, provides a therapeutic effect within 24-36 hours. Flunixin meglumine is largely associated with plasma proteins (up to 99%), excreted from the body mainly with feces (about 80%) and partially with urine.
Aziflumin, according to the degree of exposure to the body, belongs to moderately hazardous substances (hazard class 3 according to GOST 12.1.007-76).
PURPOSE
Aziflumin is used in pigs, cattle and dogs for therapeutic purposes in diseases of the respiratory system, gastrointestinal tract, genitourinary system, skin and soft tissues, including borreliosis, necrobacteriosis, pig erysipelas, spirochetosis, chlamydia and other diseases of bacterial and mycoplasma etiology, causative agents of which are sensitive to azithromycin.
DOSAGE AND APPLICATION
Aziflumin is administered to pigs and cattle intramuscularly once a day at a dose of 1 ml per 20 kg of animal weight for 3-5 days; dogs - subcutaneously once a day at a dose of 1 ml per 10 kg of animal weight for 5-7 days, in severe cases and in chronic disease - up to 1O days.
The maximum volume for the introduction of the drug in one place should not exceed for cattle - 20 ml, pigs and dogs - 5-1 ml. If the volume of the injected drug is more than the specified one, it should be administered to animals in several places.
SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS
When carrying out therapeutic measures using the drug, the general rules of personal hygiene and safety measures provided for when working with drugs should be observed. At the end of work, hands should be washed with warm water and soap. In case of accidental contact of the drug with the skin or mucous membranes of the eyes, they should be immediately rinsed with plenty of running water. People with hypersensitivity to the components of the drug should avoid direct contact with the drug. In case of allergic reactions or accidental ingestion of the drug into the human body, you should immediately contact a medical institution (you should have instructions for use of the drug or a label with you).
Females during pregnancy and breastfeeding are used under the supervision of a veterinarian based on an assessment of the ratio of the expected benefits to the possible risk of its use.
Avoid skipping the next dose of the drug, as this can lead to a decrease in therapeutic effectiveness. If one or more doses of the drug are missed, the course of use must be resumed as soon as possible in the prescribed dosage regimen.
Slaughter of cattle and pigs for meat is allowed no earlier than 45 days after the last injection of the drug. The meat of animals that were forcedly killed before the expiration of the specified period can be used as feed for fur animals.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
A contraindication to the use of Aziflumin is the increased individual sensitivity of the animal to the components of the drug, antibiotics of the macrolide group, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, severe renal, hepatic and heart failure, hemorrhagic syndrome, stomach and duodenal ulcers. It is forbidden to administer the medicinal product to lactating cows whose milk is used for food purposes, animals under 6 weeks of age and piglets weighing less than 6 kg.
SIDE EFFECTS
When using the drug in accordance with this instruction, side effects and complications, as a rule, are not observed. In rare cases, edema may develop at the injection site, which resolves spontaneously within a few days. In case of increased individual sensitivity of the animal to the components of the drug and the occurrence of allergic reactions, the use is stopped and desensitizing therapy is carried out.
SHELF LIFE AND STORAGE
The shelf life of the drug, subject to the storage conditions in the manufacturer's closed packaging, is 2 years from the date of production, after the first opening of the bottle - no more than 30 days.
Store in a closed manufacturer's packaging in a place protected from direct sunlight, separately from food and feed, at a temperature from 2 В° C to 25 В° C.
