DESCRIPTION

Antimicrobial shampoo with chlorhexidine 4% (Shashpoo antiС€icroblal with chlorhexidine 4%) for the treatment and prevention of skin diseases and its derivatives in dogs and cats. In appearance, the drug is a clear or slightly opalescent liquid from light yellow to yellow.

COMPOSITION

The drug in 1 ml contains as active ingredient: chlorhexidine bigluconate - 40 mg, and as auxiliary substances: decyl glucosyl, cocamidopropyl betaine, cocodiethanolamide, lactic acid, EDTA B, benzalkonium chloride, BlueRiver perfume and purified water.

PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES

Antimicrobial shampoo with chlorhexidine 4% refers to antiseptic drugs.

Chlorhexidine bigluconate, which is a part of the preparation, is a dichloro-containing derivative of biguanide, has a pronounced antimicrobial effect, is active against vegetative forms of gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria, as well as yeast, dermatophytes and lipophilic viruses. It acts on bacterial spores only at elevated temperatures.

The mechanism of action of chlorhexidine is in interaction with phosphate groups on the surface of the bacterial cell, as a result of which there is a shift in osmotic equilibrium, violation of the integrity and death of the cell. After washing with shampoo, the residual bactericidal effect on the skin lasts up to 24 hours.

It does not have a skin resorptive effect.

Shampoo with chlorhexidine 4% in terms of the degree of impact on the body belongs to low-hazard substances (hazard class 4 according to GOST 12.1.007-76), in recommended doses it does not have a local irritant, resorptive-toxic and sensitizing effect. Causes minor irritation in eye contact.

DOSAGE AND APPLICATION

Antimicrobial shampoo with chlorhexidine 4% is prescribed to dogs and cats with a therapeutic and prophylactic purpose for bacterial (superficial and deep pyodermatitis), fungal (malassezioses and dermatophytosis), mixed and atopic skin lesions and its derivatives.

Antimicrobial shampoo with chlorhexidine 4% is applied by uniformly applying to the animal's fur moistened with warm water at the rate of 1 ml per 1 kg of animal weight, rubbing with massaging movements until foam forms, avoiding contact with mucous membranes. After 5-1 O minutes, rinse the shampoo thoroughly with warm water, dry and comb the coat.

For optimal therapeutic effect, the use of the drug must be repeated every 3-5 days, depending on the pathology, at least 3-4 weeks.

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS

With external use, cases of overdose are unknown. In case of accidental ingestion, it is practically not absorbed (gastric lavage should be done using milk, raw egg or gelatin). If necessary, symptomatic therapy is performed.

The peculiarities of the action of the drug during its first use and withdrawal were not revealed.

The use of the drug is not allowed to animals younger than 3 weeks of age.

Violations of the drug use regimen should be avoided, as this can lead to a decrease in its effectiveness. If the next treatment is missed, it should be carried out as soon as possible.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

A contraindication to the use of antimicrobial shampoo with chlorhexidine 4% is an individual hypersensitivity to the components of the drug (including a history). The use of the drug inside and in the cavity is not allowed

The shelf life of the drug, subject to storage conditions in the manufacturer's closed packaging, is 3 years from the date of production.
