DESCRIPTION
Antiadhesive antitoxic serum against escherichiosis of farm animals. Dosage form: injection solution. In appearance, the serum is a transparent liquid of light yellow color with a pinkish tint with a slight gray-white precipitate, which, when shaken, breaks up into a uniform suspension.
COMPOSITION
Made from the blood of bull-producers hyperimmunized with an inactivated polyvalent antigen containing somatic and capsular antigens of Escherichia serogroup: 08, 09, 015, 020, 026, 041, 055, 078, 086, 0101, 0115, 0117, 0119, 0138, 0138 0141, 0147, adhesive antigens K88; Рљ99, 987Р , F41, heat-labile and heat-stable toxoids. The serum is preserved with a phenol solution (0.5% by volume).
BIOLOGICAL PROPERTIES
The serum contains specific antibodies against somatic, capsular, adhesive antigens K88, K99, 987P, F41, heat-labile and heat-stable E. coli toxoids, neutralizing the effect of enteropathogenic Escherichias.
The serum provides the formation of passive immunity in young farm animals to Escherichiosis 12-24 hours after a single application lasting up to 14 days.
The serum is harmless, has a preventive and therapeutic effect.
DOSAGE AND APPLICATION
The serum is intended for the treatment and prevention of Escherichiosis of calves, piglets, lambs and foals in farms that are unfavorable for this disease.
C serum is injected intramuscularly once in the following doses:

In severe cases of the disease, serum is re-injected after 1-3 days intraperitoneally in the same doses.
For prophylactic purposes, newborn calves are fed serum with colostrum, 15 ml each during the first three drinks.
Before use, the serum is heated in a water bath at a temperature of 36-37 В° C for 30 minutes and shaken.
Syringes and needles are sterilized by boiling. A separate sterile needle is used to immunize each animal. The injection site is disinfected with 70% alcohol.
Serum is harmless when given in a double dose.
SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS
The peculiarities of the post-injection reaction during the initial and subsequent administration of serum have not been established.
Violations of the serum administration scheme should be avoided, as this can lead to a decrease in the preventive and therapeutic effect. If the next injection of serum is missed, it must be administered as soon as possible. Young animals are vaccinated against Escherichiosis 14 days after serum administration.
It is forbidden to use serum with live immunobiological preparations. The use of serum with antibiotics and sulfa drugs is allowed.
Slaughter products of clinically healthy animals treated with serum are sold without restrictions.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
There are no contraindications to the use of serum.
SIDE EFFECTS
When using the serum in accordance with this instruction, side effects and complications are usually not observed. In some animals, allergic reactions may manifest in the form of salivation, cyanosis of the mucous membranes, and an increase in body temperature. In this case, antihistamines are used (diphenhydramine, diprazine, diazolin, caffeine, atropine). Again, the serum is administered fractionally in two doses with an interval of 3-4 hours.
SHELF LIFE AND STORAGE
Serum shelf life is 4 years from the date of issue, subject to storage and transportation conditions. After the expiration date, the serum is not suitable for use.
The serum is stored and transported in a dry dark place at a temperature of 2 В° C to 15 В° C.
PACKAGING
The serum is packaged in 100 ml (2 doses) in vials of the appropriate capacity. The vials are hermetically sealed with rubber stoppers, reinforced with aluminum caps.
