Description

Spray in a plastic bottle with a dosing valve.

The contents of the bottle are a colorless liquid with a mint smell.

PHARMACHOLOGIC EFFECT:

Chlorhexidine can have bactericidal and bacteriostatic effects.

It has a wide antibacterial spectrum of action against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, is active against Candida albicans.

Chlorhexidine is especially active against Streptococcus mutans, Streptococcus salivarius, Escherichia coli and anaerobic bacteria.

Less effective against such types of microorganisms as Streptococcus spp., Proteus spp., Pseudomonas, Klebsiella spp., Veillonella spp.

Tetracaine has a local anesthetic effect.

PHARMACOKINETICS:

Tetracaine is readily and completely absorbed through the mucous membranes.

Plasma protein binding is high.

It is completely hydrolyzed by cholinesterase within 1-2 hours to form para-aminobenzoic acid compounds.

It is excreted by the kidneys and with bile, while partially undergoing hepatic-intestinal recirculation.

There is no clinical data on the absorption of chlorhexidine through the mucous membrane of the human oral cavity.

Chlorhexidine can persist in saliva for up to 8 hours. It is practically not absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract.

It is excreted mainly through the intestines (90%), less than 1% is excreted by the kidneys.

INDICATIONS FOR USE:

Prevention, etiotropic and symptomatic treatment of infectious and inflammatory diseases of the oral cavity and pharynx caused by microorganisms sensitive to chlorhexidine (pharyngitis, tonsillitis, the initial stage of sore throat, periodontal disease, stomatitis, gingivitis, condition after tonsillectomy or tooth extraction, etc.).

Complex therapy of sore throat (apply at the first signs of the disease - for sore throat and sore throat).

CONTRAINDICATIONS:

Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug, damage or inflammation of the mucous membranes, in highly vascularized areas, phenylketonuria, childhood (up to 10 years).

With caution: during pregnancy and lactation, diabetes mellitus, glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency, hemochromatosis, sideroblastic anemia, thalassemia, hyperoxaluria, oxalosis and urolithiasis.

APPLICATION DURING PREGNANCY AND DURING LACTATION: only after consulting a doctor.

DOSAGE AND APPLICATION: topically.

The drug is sprayed onto the mucous membrane of the mouth and throat while holding the breath.

Adults and children over 15 years old: 1-2 injections per dose up to 6 times a day.

Children from 10 to 15 years old: 1-2 injections per dose, up to 3 times a day.

The course of treatment is not more than 5 days.

SIDE EFFECTS: allergic reactions, burning of the oral mucosa.

OVERDOSE:

Overdose symptoms: dizziness, general weakness, cyanosis, agitation, anxiety, muscle tremor, respiratory failure, nausea, vomiting.

Treatment: gastric lavage, the appointment of saline laxatives

symptomatic therapy.

INTERACTION WITH OTHER MEDICINAL PRODUCTS:

Sucrose, polysorbate 80, insoluble magnesium, zinc and calcium salts reduce the effect of chlorhexidine.

Tetracaine reduces the antibacterial activity of sulfa drugs. Vasoconstrictor drugs prolong the effect and reduce toxicity. Medicines that inhibit cholinesterase (anti-myasthenic drugs, cyclophosphamide, thiotepa, etc.), reduce the metabolism of tetracaine and increase its toxicity. Anticoagulants (sodium dalteparin, sodium enoxaparin, sodium heparin, warfarin) increase the risk of bleeding. When tetracaine is used with drugs that inhibit monoamine oxidase (furazolidone, procarbazine, selegiline), the risk of lowering blood pressure increases. Tetracaine enhances and lengthens the effect of muscle relaxant drugs. Beta-blockers slow down the metabolism of tetracaine, increasing its toxicity (decreased hepatic blood flow).

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS: the spray should not be inhaled.

Avoid getting the drug in the eyes.

If, 3 days after the start of treatment, the symptoms of the disease do not disappear or the course of the disease worsens, it is necessary to determine the appropriateness of its further use.

Children can use the drug from the age of 10, while the child must be able to hold their breath when injecting the drug.

When taking the drug, it must be borne in mind that 1 dose (1 injection) contains 83 mg of absolute ethanol.

The drug should be taken no later than 30 minutes before driving.

Subject to this recommendation, the drug does not affect the ability to drive vehicles and control mechanisms.

It is not recommended to use simultaneously with drugs for the treatment of the oral cavity and throat containing iodine (Lugol's solution, povidone-iodine).

FORM OF RELEASE: spray for topical application dosed.

25 ml of the drug (100 doses) are placed in a plastic bottle with a dosing valve in a cardboard box with instructions for use.
