DESCRIPTION

Alvet suspension is a safe and economical agent for the fight against invasive diseases of cattle, small cattle and horses, which has increased stability and bioavailability due to the original formulation and technology of particle micronization. It is a milky white to light gray liquid. During storage, delamination is allowed, which disappears when shaken.

COMPOSITION

Contains 10% albendazole and auxiliary components (methylcellulose, propanediol, chlorethone, citric acid, sodium hydroxide and distilled water) as an active ingredient.

PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES

Alvet - suspension has a wide spectrum of anthelmintic action, is active against adults and larvae of nematodes, trematodes, as well as cestodes; having an ovocidal effect, it reduces the infection of pastures with helminth eggs. The mechanism of action of albendazole, which is part of the drug, is to disrupt the processes of glucose transport, microturbular function and a decrease in the activity of fumarate reductase in helminths, which leads to their death.

When administered orally, albendazole is absorbed in the gastrointestinal tract and penetrates into organs and tissues; excreted from the body mainly in urine and feces. Alvet - suspension according to the degree of impact on the body according to GOST 12.1.007-76 belongs to moderately hazardous substances (hazard class 3): LD50 when administered orally to white mice is more than 2500 mg / kg, in recommended doses it is well tolerated by animals, does not have hepatotoxic and sensitizing action.

INDICATIONS

Alvet - a suspension is prescribed for therapeutic and prophylactic purposes in cattle, horses and sheep with nematodes, trematodes and cestodoses.

DOSES AND METHOD OF APPLICATION

The drug is administered orally, once. A preliminary fasting diet and the use of laxatives before deworming are not required.

For cattle, the drug is prescribed individually in the form of a 10% suspension for moniesiasis, pulmonary and gastrointestinal nematodes at a dose of 7.5 ml / 100 kg, for chronic fascioliasis - 10 ml / 100 kg of animal weight, which is 7.5 mg / kg and 10 mg / kg albendazole.

For horses, the drug is prescribed individually in the form of a 10% suspension for parascariasis, strongilatosis, alfortiosis, delafondiosis, anoplocephalosis and cytostomoses individually orally at a dose of 7.5 ml / 100 kg of animal weight (7.5 mg / kg albendazole).

For small cattle, the drug is prescribed individually in the form of a 10% suspension in the following doses:

Shake well before use. Before mass treatments, each batch of the drug is preliminarily tested on a small group of animals (10-15 animals), which are monitored for 3 days. In the absence of complications, the drug is used for the entire livestock.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

Alvet - the suspension is not allowed to be used by depleted and sick animals with infectious diseases, cows and horses in the first third of pregnancy, sheep - in the first half of pregnancy. It is prohibited to use the drug in laying hens.

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS

Slaughter of animals for meat is allowed no earlier than: cattle after 14 days, sheep - 10 days. In case of forced slaughter of earlier established terms, the meat can be used as feed for fur animals or for the production of meat and bone meal. Milk of dairy animals must not be used for food purposes within 4 days after deworming. Milk can be used after heat treatment in animal feeding.

PRECAUTIONS

When working with the drug, you should follow the general rules of personal hygiene and safety measures provided for when working with medicines for animals. It is forbidden to use empty containers from the preparation for food purposes. Alvet - suspension after the expiration date should not be used.

SHELF LIFE AND STORAGE

Store the drug in its original packaging with caution (list B), protected from light, out of reach of children and animals, separately from food and feed at temperatures from 0 to 25 В° C. The shelf life of the drug, subject to storage conditions, is 18 months from the date of manufacture.
