DESCRIPTION
Alvet is a safe, economical agent for combating invasive diseases of agricultural animals and birds, in the form of a granulate for oral use, with increased bioavailability due to the original technology and formulation, and containing special flavoring additives that ensure good eatability by animals. It looks like granules of light gray color, insoluble in water.
COMPOSITION
1 gram of the drug contains 200 mg of albendazole as an active ingredient, as well as auxiliary components.
PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES
Alvet has a wide spectrum of anthelmintic action, is active against sexually mature and immature nematodes and cestodes, as well as sexually mature trematodes. Possessing an ovocidal effect, it reduces the infestation of pastures by helminths. The mechanism of action of albendazole, which is part of the drug, is to disrupt the processes of glucose transport, microturbular function and a decrease in the activity of fumarate reductase in helminths, which leads to their death.
When administered orally, albendazole is rapidly absorbed in the gastrointestinal tract and penetrates into organs and tissues; excreted from the body mainly in urine and feces. Alvet, according to the degree of impact on the body, refers to moderately hazardous substances, does not have hepatotoxic and sensitizing effects.
