Alvet 500g
DESCRIPTION
Alvet (Alvet) is a drug for combating invasive diseases of farm animals and poultry, in the form of a granulate for oral use, with increased bioavailability due to the original technology and formulation, and containing special flavoring additives that ensure good eating by animals. The drug in appearance is a light gray granules, insoluble in water.
COMPOSITION
Alvet in 1 g contains as an active ingredient: albendazole - 200 mr, and as an auxiliary substance lactose.
PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES
Alvet belongs to anthelmintic drugs.
Albendazole - methyl {5- (propylthio) -1-N-benzamidazol-2-yl} carbamate, which is part of the drug, has a wide spectrum of anthelmintic action, is effective in mono- and polyinvasions, is active against imago and larvae of nematodes, cestodes, and also imago of trematodes; having an ovocidal effect, it reduces the infection of pastures with helminth eggs.
The mechanism of action of albendazole, which is a part of the drug, is to selectively suppress beta-tubulin polymerization, disrupt the activity of the microtubular system of cells in the intestinal canal of helminths; suppression of glucose utilization, blockade of movement of secretory granules and other organelles in the muscle cells of roundworms, thus causing their death.
When administered orally, albendazole is absorbed in the gastrointestinal tract. Albendazole is 70% bound to blood plasma proteins, freely distributed in the body; determined in urine, bile, liver, cyst wall and cystic fluid, cerebrospinal fluid. Albendazole sulfoxide in the liver is rapidly converted to albendazole sulfone (a secondary metabolite) and other oxidized products.
The half-life of albendazole sulfoxide from blood plasma lasts 8-12 hours. Albendazole sulfoxide and other metabolites are excreted mainly in the bile, and only a small amount of them is excreted in the urine, in lactating animals - partly in milk.
Alvet, in terms of the degree of impact on the body, refers to moderately hazardous substances (III hazard class according to GOST 12.1.007-76), in recommended doses it is well tolerated by animals, does not have hepatotoxic and sensitizing effects.
PURPOSE
It is prescribed for therapeutic and prophylactic purposes in cattle, sheep, pigs, horses, dogs and poultry with nematodes, trematodes and cestodoses.
DOSAGE AND APPLICATION
Deworming of animals for therapeutic purposes is carried out according to indications, with prophylactic - in the spring before pasture and in the fall before stalling.
The drug is administered to animals orally individually or in groups in a mixture with feed: cattle, sheep, pigs, horses and dogs - once, poultry - twice.
Alvet weight in teaspoons and tablespoons: 1 tsp. without a slide contains 3.5 g of Alvet; 1 tbsp. l. without 'slide' contains 10 g of the drug Alvet.
A special diet and the use of laxatives before deworming are not required.
Cattle are used individually in the following doses: for moniesiasis, pulmonary and gastrointestinal nematodes - 3.75 g per 100 kg of animal weight (albendazole 7.5 mg / kg); in chronic fascioliasis - 5.0 g per 100 kg of animal weight (albendazole 10.0 mg / kg).
Horses with parascariasis, sidehylidosis (alfortiosis, delafondiosis), anoplocephalosis and cytostomoses are used individually at a dose of 3.75 g per 100 kg of animal weight (albendazole 7.5 mg / kg).
For sheep, the drug is used individually or in groups in the following doses: for moniesiasis, pulmonary and gastrointestinal nematodes - 2.5 g per 100 kg of animal weight (albendazole 5.0 mg / kg); with chronic fascioliasis - 3.75 g per 100 kg of animal weight (albendazole 7.5 mg / kg).
In case of group use, a sample of the drug, designed for a group of no more than 150 sheep, is thoroughly mixed with compound feed (at the rate of 50-100 g of compound feed per animal). The mixture is laid out on feeders, providing animals with free access to them.
For pigs, the drug is used for ascariasis and esophagostomosis in a group manner with concentrated feed in the morning feeding at a dose of 5.0 g per 100 kg of animal weight (albendazole 10.0 mg / kg). The drug, in a dose calculated for a group of no more than 50 pigs, is mixed with half the feed rate and laid out on the feeders, providing the animals with free access to them.
For dogs, the drug is used individually for nematodes at a dose of 0.375 g per 10 kg of animal weight (albendazole 7.5 mg / kg), with cestodoses at a dose of 0.75 g per 10 kg of animal weight (albendazole 15 mg / kg).
For agricultural poultry, the drug is used for ascariasis and heterocytosis for two days in a row in a group way in a mixture with compound feed in the morning feeding at a dose of 0.5 g per 10 kg of bird weight (albendazole 10.0 mg / kg).
Before mass treatments, each batch of the drug is preliminarily tested on a small group of animals (10-15 animals), which are monitored for 3 days. In the absence of complications, the drug is used for the entire livestock.
