Pharmacological action
Althea syrup has a reflex expectorant, as well as a local anti-inflammatory effect, reduces the viscosity of bronchial secretions.
Indications
Respiratory tract diseaseaccompanied by a cough with sputum that is difficult to separate (tracheitis, tracheobronchitis, bronchitis).
Contraindications
Increased individual sensitivity to the components of the drug.
Sucrose / isomaltase deficiency, fructose intolerance, glucose-galactose malabsorption.
Use during pregnancy and lactation
Use during pregnancy and during breastfeeding is possible if the expected benefit to the mother outweighs the potential risk to the fetus and the baby.

Information for patients with diabetes mellitus: 1 teaspoon (5 ml) contains 0.4 XE (bread units), 1 tablespoon (15 ml) - 1.2 XE.
The drug does not affect the ability to drive vehicles, machinery and engage in other dangerous activities that require special attention and quick reactions.
Composition
Active ingredient:
Althea officinalis root extract (marshmallow root extract dry) (containing the sum of reducing monosaccharides in terms of glucose - 1.0%) - 25 g
excipients:
sodium benzoate,
sugar ,
purified water.
Dosage and administration of
Althea syrup taken orally:
Children under 12 years old - 1 teaspoon of syrup previously diluted in? glasses of warm water, 4-5 times a day after meals.
Children over 12 years old and adults - 1 tablespoon of syrup, previously diluted in? glasses of warm water 4-5 times a day after meals.
Duration of treatment is 10-15 days.
Increasing the duration and conducting repeated courses of treatment is possible in agreement with the doctor.
Drug Interactions
Althea Syrup should not be used concomitantly with preparations containing codeine and other antitussive drugs, as this makes it difficult to cough up liquefied sputum.
Overdose
Symptoms: nausea, vomiting.
Treatment: drug withdrawal, gastric lavage.
Storage conditions
In the dark place at a temperature of no higher than 25 РC.
