Pharmacological action

Non-fluorinated synthetic corticosteroids for external use. It has anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic, antipruritic and antiproliferative effects.

When applied to the skin surface in the focus of inflammation, it quickly and effectively reduces the severity of objective symptoms (erythema, edema, lichenification) and subjective sensations (itching, irritation, pain).

Indications

Dermatoses in which topical treatment of corticosteroids is effective (including localization on the skin of the face and in the anogenital region):

- atopic dermatitis

- eczema

- psoriasis

- allergic and contact dermatitis

- solar dermatitis

- allergic reactions to insect bites.

The drug can be used in children from 6 months.

Contraindications

- skin tuberculosis

- skin manifestations of syphilis

- chickenpox

- viral infections of the skin

- skin post-vaccination

- open sores - acute ulcers - sore ulcers - from the auxiliary components of the drug.

Use during pregnancy and lactation

Use of Afloderm during pregnancy is possible only when the intended benefits to the mother outweigh the potential risk to the fetus. In such cases, the use of the drug should be short-lived and limited to a small area of ​​the skin.

There are no data on the teratogenic effect of the drug.

Afloderm may be used during lactation, but with precautions, in particular, the drug should not be applied to the skin of the breast before feeding.

Composition

1 g of the ointment contains:

Active dose: 0.5 mg alkl.

Excipients:

soft white paraffin - 799.5 mg

beeswax white - 60 mg

propylene glycol monopalmitostearate - 20 mg

hexylene glycol - 120 mg.

Dosage and administration

Ointment is recommended for the treatment of subacute and chronic dermatoses, incl. dry, lichenized and flaky lesions, or in cases where an occlusive effect of the ointment is necessary.

Ointment is evenly applied with a thin layer on the affected skin 2-3 times / day. On areas with denser skin (for example, elbows, palms and feet), as well as places from which the drug is easily erased, Afloderm should be applied more often.

In children and during the period of subsiding of the main symptoms, the drug can be used 1 time / day.

To prevent relapse in the treatment of chronic diseases, therapy should be continued for some time after all symptoms have disappeared.

Side effects

Typically, the drug is well tolerated. Side effects with the external use of alklomethasone are rare and are reversible.

From the skin: with a frequency of 1% (for ointment) and 2% (for cream) - itching, burning, erythema with a frequency of 2% (for cream) additionally - dry skin, irritation, papular rash

common for both dosage forms: infrequently - folliculitis, acneiform rash, hypopigmentation, perioral dermatitis, dermatitis, secondary infection, skin atrophy, striae, sweating.

In case of hypersensitivity reactions or side effects, therapy should be discontinued and consult a doctor.

Drug Interaction

No clinically relevant interaction of Afloderm with other medicinal products has been established.

Overdose

Symptoms: development of systemic side effects of ACS.

Treatment: symptomatic.
