Pharmacological action

Proctosedil - a combined drug for the treatment of hemorrhoids and other diseases of the anorectal zone.

Hydrocortisone, a glucocorticosteroid, is an anti-inflammatory. Eliminates various signs and symptoms of inflammation, such as: redness, swelling, pain.

Framycetin sulfate is a broad-spectrum antibiotic for topical use. It has bactericidal activity against a number of gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms.

Esculoside - a substance similar in its chemical structure to vitamin P, reduces the increased fragility of capillaries.

Ethylaminobenzoate and butylaminobenzoate have a local analgesic and antipruritic effect, reduce spasm of the anal sphincter.

The effect of the drug appears a few minutes after application.

Indications

Acute hemorrhoids (internal and external), acute anal fissures, proctitis, perianal eczema, itching in the anus, cracks in the rectal mucosa, proctitis

Ingredients

1 capsule contains:

Active ingredients: framycetin sulfate 5 mg, hydrocortisone acetate 2.79 mg, esculoside 5 mg, benzocaine (ethylaminobenzoate) 5 mg, butamben (butylaminobenzoate) 5 mg liquid.

Capsule shell composition: gelatin, glycerol (glycerin), methyl parahydroxybenzoate (methyl paraben), propyl parahydroxybenzoate (propyl paraben), titanium dioxide (E171), purified water.

Dosage and administration

Proctosedil is prescribed in the morning and evening, as well as after each bowel movement. The rectal capsule should be inserted as deep as possible into the rectum. After improvement, the number of rectal capsules can be reduced to one per day.

Proctosedil rectal capsules can be combined with proctosedil ointment.

The drug is used for a short time (no more than 7 days).

Side effects

Local reactions: discomfort in the rectum, burning in the rectum, dry mucous membrane of the rectum.
