DESCRIPTION

AdvantixВ® is an insectoacaricidal drug. AdvantixВ® is available as drops on the withers for puppies and dogs up to 4 kg. The active ingredients are imidacloprid and permethrin.

INDICATIONS

AdvantixВ® is used to protect animals from insects (fleas, lice, lice, mosquitoes, flies, midges and mosquitoes) and ixodid ticks.

After a single treatment, the drug has a long (up to 4 weeks) insect-acaricidal and repellent effect.

APPLICATION

AdvantixВ® can be used in puppies from 7 weeks of age or weighing more than 1.5 kg.

AdvantixВ® is applied to dry, intact skin between the shoulder blades at the base of the neck. When processing large animals, the contents of the pipettes are applied to the skin in 3-4 places along the back, from the withers to the tail. It is not recommended to bathe and pet the animal at the site of application of the drug until the site of application becomes dry.

MECHANISM OF ACTION

After applying the drug AdvantixВ® to the skin, its active components are quickly distributed over the surface of the body, adhering to the epidermis and hair. Imidacloprid and permethrin, which are part of the drug, have a synergistic effect, have a pronounced insecticidal, acaricidal and repellent effect on insects and ixodid ticks. The mechanism of action of imidacloprid is based on interaction with the acetylcholine receptors of arthropods and disruption of nerve impulses, which causes the death of insects. The mechanism of action of permethrin is to block the transmission of nerve impulses, which causes paralysis and death of ectoparasites.

EFFICIENCY

The death of insects parasitizing on the animal occurs within 12 hours, the death or detachment of ixodid ticks - within 48 hours after treatment. The repellent effect of the drug against lice, fleas, lice, dipterans, blood-sucking insects, as well as ixodid ticks after a single treatment of the animal lasts no more than 4 weeks. The drug continues to work even if the animal's fur gets wet, but it is recommended to avoid prolonged exposure of the animal in water in order to prevent a decrease in the effectiveness of the treatment. In such cases, the animal can be re-treated with AdvantixВ®, but not more often than once a week.

POSSIBLE INDIVIDUAL REACTIONS

As a rule, there are no side effects and complications when using the drug AdvantixВ® in accordance with this instruction. In rare cases, individual skin reactions (redness, itching) are possible, which spontaneously disappear within 1-4 days and do not require the use of drugs. In case of allergic reactions in an animal sensitive to the components of the drug, the drug should be thoroughly washed off with soap and water and rinsed with plenty of running water.

The shelf life of the drug, subject to storage conditions in a sealed package, is 3 years from the date of production.
