Pharmacological properties
Pharmacodynamics:
Drug for external use.
Adapalene is a retinoid metabolite, has a comedolytic and anti-inflammatory effect, normalizes the processes of keratinization and epidermal differentiation.
The mechanism of action of adapalene is based on interaction with specific ?-receptors of epidermal skin cells. As a result of the action of adapalene, in particular, there is a decrease in the 'cohesion' of epithelial cells at the mouth of the sebaceous hair follicle and a decrease in the prerequisites for the formation of microcomedones.
Adapalene has an anti-inflammatory effect in vitro and in vivo, acting on inflammatory factors by inhibiting the migration of leukocytes in the focus of inflammation and the metabolism of arachidonic acid.
Pharmacokinetics:
Absorption: absorption of adapalene through the skin is very low (about 4% of the applied dose).
Excretion: the elimination of adapalene from the body occurs mainly with bile.
Indications for use:
acne.

pregnancy;
lactation period (breastfeeding);
