Pharmacological action
Medical device Ophthalmic moisturizing solution HILO-COMOD® (“Hilo” - from lat. acidum hyaluronicum - hyaluronic acid) is a sterile isotonic 0.1% aqueous solution of sodium hyaluronate that does not contain preservatives (in the original container "KOMOD®").
Hyaluronic acid (in the form of sodium salt), which is part of the HILO-COMOD® solution, is a natural substance. Sodium hyaluronate is a physiological polysaccharide compound found both in the tissues of the eye and other tissues and fluids of the human body.
A special physicochemical property of sodium hyaluronate molecules is their pronounced ability to bind water molecules. An aqueous solution of sodium hyaluronate (HILO-COMOD®) has the necessary viscosity and high adhesive properties with respect to the anterior surface of the eye (cornea), due to which HILO-COMOD® forms a uniform, persistent over time corneal tear film on the surface of the cornea, which It does not wash off when blinking and does not cause a decrease in visual acuity. Thus, the eye is permanently protected from the sensation of dryness and irritation, which often occur when in contact with the environment, as well as when wearing contact lenses.
The use of HILO-COMOD® solution makes wearing hard or soft contact lenses more comfortable, while HILO-COMOD® does not deposit on the surface of the lenses.
The HILO-COMOD® solution is placed in the original COMOD® container, which is a complex system of reservoirs and valves that guarantees the absence of air from the outside and ensures the extraction of uniformly sized droplets regardless of the degree of applied force.
The metal parts and valves of the container in contact with the HILO-COMOD® solution are partially coated with a thin layer of silver, which together with the absolute tightness of the system ensures the sterility of the HILO-COMOD® solution in the absence of preservatives. This eliminates the possible undesirable effects of preservatives on the eye tissue and ensures good tolerance of the HILO-COMOD® solution even with prolonged use.
Indications
for additional moisturizing the anterior surface of the eye (cornea and conjunctiva) with a sensation of “dryness”, feeling of a foreign body, burning in the eyes
to moisturize the anterior surface of the eye after ophthalmic surgery, as well as damage and injuries of the cornea
discomfort when wearing hard and soft contact lenses.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to any of the components that make up the HILO-COMODВ® solution.
Special instructions
When wearing soft and hard contact lenses, it is possible to instill the HILO-COMOD® solution into the conjunctival sac without removing the lenses.
The COMOD® system is intended for individual use.
After opening the container, the HILO-COMOD® solution should be used within 12 weeks.
On the label of the bottle in the specially provided column for the patient “Date of first use”, the date of first instillation of the drug should be noted.
Composition
1 ml of solution contains:
Active ingredient:
sodium hyaluronate (sodium salt of hyaluronic acid) - 1 mg
Excipients:
citric acid anhydrous,
sodium citrate,
sorbitol.
Dosage and Administration
in the conjunctival sac. It is recommended to instill a solution of HILO-COMODΠ1 drop in the conjunctival sac of each eye 3 times a day. If necessary, the HILO-COMODΠsolution can be instilled more often.
The frequency of instillation of the HILO-COMODΠsolution is set individually depending on the patient's sensations and according to the recommendations of an ophthalmologist or contact lens specialist. If the HILO-COMODΠsolution is used very often (for example, more than 10 times a day), then you need to consult an ophthalmologist. If, after applying the HILO-COMODΠsolution, complaints or discomfort persist for several days, you should also consult an ophthalmologist.
The COMODΠsystem contains and allows you to extract 10 ml of HILO-COMODΠsolution, which corresponds to approximately 300 drops of the solution.
After full use of the contents, you should purchase a new filled container with HILO-COMODΠsolution, as The system is not intended for reuse.
There is no limit to the duration of use of the HILO-COMODΠsolution.
Method of application and recommendations for wearing contact lenses
1. Before each instillation, remove the cap.
2. Before using the HILO-COMODΠsolution for the first time, turn the container upside down with a dropper and press it several times, until the first drop appears on the tip of the dropper (see Fig. 2). After that, the system is ready for use.
When instilling the HILO-COMODΠsolution, hold the container with the dropper down, quickly and vigorously pressing on its base. Thus, the dropper mechanism is activated and only one drop of the drug is extracted. Due to the special design of the valves in the COMODΠsystem, the droplet size and its extraction rate remain the same even with very strong pressure on the container base.
3. Tilt your head back slightly, slightly lower the lower eyelid with your finger and drop one drop into the conjunctival sac, as described above. Slowly close your eyes, allowing the liquid to evenly distribute over the surface of the eye.
4. After the procedure is completed, tightly put the cap on the dropper.
5. When instilling, avoid contact of the dropper tip with the surface of the eye and skin.
Side effects
Not fixed.
Drug interaction
In case of combined use with ophthalmic preparations, it is recommended to observe a pause of at least 30 minutes between instillation of HILO-COMOD® solution and the use of eye drops.
Eye ointments should always be used after instillation of the HILO-COMOD® solution.
Overdose
Does not occur.
