Pharmacological action

Venitan forte - a combined preparation for external use, contains a venotonic agent and direct anticoagulant.

Escin is found in the seeds of horse chestnut (Aesculus hippocastanum L., semen), is a mixture of triterpene saponins. Escin exerts an anti-inflammatory effect mainly in the initial phase of the inflammatory reaction, tightening the walls of the capillaries and, thus, reducing their permeability, increased with inflammation. Escin also has a positive effect on the fragility of the walls of the capillaries and increases the tone of the venous walls when it is weakened. All this leads to a decrease in stagnation in the venous channel and the accumulation of fluid in the tissues, preventing the appearance of edema.

Heparin interferes with blood coagulation, which reduces blood clots in blood vessels, and also has an anti-inflammatory effect.

Dexpanthenol and allantoin improve the absorption of active substances through the skin and, thus, enhance their therapeutic effect.

Indications

Peripheral circulatory disorders, varicose veins, venous insufficiency, a feeling of heaviness in the legs during pregnancy or prolonged standing, to relieve swelling of soft tissues and accelerate the resorption of post-traumatic hematomas or injections.

Use during pregnancy and lactation

There are no restrictions on the use of indications during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Due to the low degree of absorption of the active substances that make up the gel, they do not have a systemic effect. The necessity of prescribing the drug during pregnancy and during lactation (breastfeeding) is determined by the doctor individually.

Composition

1 g contains:

Active substances: amorphous β-escin 10 mg, heparin sodium 100 ME

Excipients: dexanaptenol allantoin powder sodium methyl parahydroxybenzoate sodium hydroxide carboxypolymethyl paragiene - carbopol 934P simethicone emulsion propylene glycol purified water.

Dosage and administration

A thin layer of Venitan forte gel should be applied to and around the painful areas of the skin and gently rub. The gel should be applied 1-3 times a day. With inflammatory diseases of the veins, the gel is not rubbed. Do not immediately apply all the amount of gel needed to receive, it is applied gradually, in small portions. With trophic ulcers of the lower leg, gel the edges of the ulcer where blood circulation is impaired, and care should be taken so that the gel does not directly hit the surface of the ulcer.

For varicose veins of the lower extremities, it is also recommended to use an elastic bandage or wear special tightening tights.

Side effects

The manifestation of allergic reactions is extremely rare.
