Pharmacological action of
GavisconВ® enters the stomach and interacts with its contents, forming a protective barrier (raft) that prevents the occurrence of heartburn.
Gaviscon - antacid.
Pharmacodynamics
When taken orally, Gaviscon quickly reacts with the acidic contents of the stomach. In this case, an alginate gel is formed, which prevents the occurrence of gastroesophageal reflux. With regurgitation, the gel is more likely than the contents of the stomach to enter the esophagus, where it reduces mucosal irritation.
Pharmacokinetics
The mechanism of action of Gaviscon is independent of absorption into the systemic circulation.
Indications
Symptomatic treatment of dyspepsia associated with increased acidity of the gastric juice and gastroesophageal reflux (heartburn, sour belching) feeling of heaviness in the stomach after eating, including during pregnancy.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug for children under 6 years of age.
Use during pregnancy and lactation
