Pharmacological action

Panavir is an antiviral and immunomodulating agent. It increases the nonspecific resistance of the body to various infections and promotes the induction of interferon.

Contraindications

Individual intolerance. PanavirВ® should not be used in patients with allergies to the components of the drug: glucose, mannose, ramnose, arabinose, xylose.

Patients with severe pathology of the kidneys and spleen.

Lactation, children under 12 years old.

Use during pregnancy and lactation

Use during pregnancy is only possible if the intended benefit to the mother outweighs the potential risk to the fetus.

If you need to use the drug during lactation, you should stop breastfeeding.

Special instructions

When used in preparation for pregnancy, it helps to reduce the frequency of reproductive losses in cytomegalovirus and herpes virus infections.

If the solution becomes cloudy, the drug is considered unsuitable for use.

Composition

Active ingredient: PanavirΠ(purified extract of the shoots of the plant Solanum tuberosum, the main active ingredient is hexose glycoside, consisting of glucose, ramnose, arabinose, mannose, xylose, galactose, uronic acids) - 0.2 mg.

Excipients: 0.9% sodium chloride solution.

Dosage and administration

Panavir® in solution is used for intravenous administration of a therapeutic dose of 200 mcg (contents of one ampoule or vial) of the active substance.

For the treatment of herpesvirus infections and tick-borne encephalitis, Panavir® is used twice with an interval of 48 or 24 hours. If necessary, after a month, the course of treatment can be repeated.

For the treatment of cytomegalovirus and human papillomavirus infections, Panavir® is used three times during the first week with an interval of 48 hours and twice during the second week with an interval of 72 hours.

With herpes virus infection in patients with rheumatoid arthritis, 5 injections with an interval of 24-48 hours, if necessary, repeat the course after 2 months.

Panavir® should be injected slowly.

Side effects

The drug is well tolerated, possible complications may be associated with individual intolerance and increased sensitivity to the components of the drug .

Overdose of

In case of overdose, reversible impairment of kidney and spleen functions is possible
