Pharmacological action
Semax 1% - "Ambulance" with a stroke. Due to its form of release - a drop in the nose - it instantly begins to act, keeping nerve cells from damage and allowing minimizing the consequences of a violation of an acute disturbance in the blood supply to the brain. Prevents the occurrence of repeated strokes. Relieves post-stroke depression.
Pharmacokinetics
Absorbed from the mucous membrane of the nasal cavity, while absorbed up to 60-70% in terms of the active substance. Semax is rapidly distributed in all organs and tissues, penetrates the blood-brain barrier.

Acute period of ischemic stroke
transient ischemic attack
recovery from stroke
acute period of TBI.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug
acute psychotic conditions, disorders accompanied by anxiety
pregnancy, breastfeeding
diseases of the endocrine system.
Use during pregnancy and lactation
Contraindicated in pregnancy and lactation.

Do not use after expiration date.
Composition
1 ml 1% contains:
Active ingredient: heptapeptide 10 mg.
Excipient: nipagina 1 mg (preservative).
Dosage and administration of
Semax is administered intranasally.
As an ambulance in the first minutes and hours of a stroke - at the prehospital stage - “Semax 1%” is administered 3 drops in each nasal passage every 20 minutes before admission to the hospital.
At the treatment stage in the Semax 1% hospital, the following are used:
Moderate stroke - 3 drops in each nasal passage 4 times a day for 10 days.
Severe stroke - 3 drops in each nasal passage 6 times a day for 10 days.
Transient ischemic attack (TIA) treatment at the hospital stage - 3 drops in each nasal passage 3-6 times a day for 10 days.
Side effects
With prolonged use: possibly - slight irritation of the nasal mucosa.
Drug interactions
Given the route of administration of Semax (intranasal), administration of agents with a local vasoconstrictor effect upon intranasal administration is undesirable.
