Pharmacological action
Pantocalcin - nootropic.
Pharmacodynamics
The spectrum of action is associated with the presence of GABA in the structure. The mechanism of action is due to the direct influence of the drug Pantocalcin® on the GABAB receptor-channel complex. It has neurometabolic, neuroprotective and neurotrophic properties.
Increases brain resistance to hypoxia and exposure to toxic substances, stimulates anabolic processes in neurons. It has an anticonvulsant effect, reduces motor excitability while streamlining behavior.
Increases mental and physical performance.
Promotes the normalization of GABA in chronic alcohol intoxication and the subsequent abolition of ethanol. It has an analgesic effect.
Able to inhibit acetylation reactions involved in the mechanisms of inactivation of novocaine and sulfonamides, due to which the prolongation of the action of the latter is achieved. Causes inhibition of pathologically increased cystic reflex and detrusor tone.
Pharmacokinetics
When taken orally, it is rapidly absorbed from the digestive tract. Tmax in blood plasma is 1 hour. The highest concentrations are created in the liver, kidneys, stomach wall, and skin. Penetrates through the BBB. It is not metabolized and excreted unchanged for 48 hours (67, 5% of the dose taken - with urine, 28.5% - with feces).
Indications
cognitive impairment in organic brain lesions and neurotic disorders
as part of the complex treatment of cerebrovascular insufficiency caused by atherosclerotic changes in the vessels of the brain of senile dementia (initial form), residual organic brain lesions in people of mature age and elderly
cerebral organic insufficiency in patients with schizophrenia (in combination with antipsychotics, antidepressants)
extrapyramidal hyperkinesis in patients with hereditary diseases of the nervous system (including Huntington's chorea, hepatocerebral dystrophy)
consequences of neuroinfections and traumatic brain injuries (as part of complex therapy)
correction and prevention (cover therapy with simultaneous administration ii) side effects of antipsychotics extrapyramidal antipsychotic syndrome (hyperkinetic and akinetic)
epilepsy with a slowdown in mental processes (in combination with anticonvulsants)
psychoemotional overload, decreased mental and physical performance to improve concentration and remembering
