Pharmacological action

Artrodarin is an anti-inflammatory agent with a symptom-modifying effect of a delayed action.

Diacerein inhibits the synthesis and activity of interleukin-1 (IL-1), which plays an important role in the development of inflammation, degradation and subsequent destruction of cartilage during osteoarthritis.

also Diacerein inhibits the action of other cytokines that cause inflammation, including IL-6, TNF-alpha.

Diacerein also slows down the formation of metalloproteinases (collagenase, elastase), which are involved in the process of damage to cartilage.

With prolonged use, diacerein stimulates the synthesis of proteoglycans and does not affect the synthesis of prostaglandins.

Indications

Primary and secondary osteoarthrosis.

Contraindications

- Individual intolerance to the components of arthrodarin or high sensitivity to anthrachionic drugs (eg, laxatives).

- Children's age (up to 18 years).

- Pregnancy, lactation.

Use with caution: - In patients with irritation of the lower intestines, the drug is prescribed only in special cases.

- The drug should also be used with extreme caution in the presence of chronic renal failure.

Special instructions

The duration of treatment, depending on the result achieved, can be long. In the period preceding the development of a therapeutic effect.

Artrodarin can be taken simultaneously with analgesics and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.

Composition

1 caps. contains diacerein 50 mg

excipients: lactose monohydrate, croscarmellose sodium salt, povidone K30, colloidal silicon dioxide, magnesium stearate, indigotine (E-132), yellow iron oxide (E-172), titanium oxide (E-171), gelatin.

Dosage and administration

Standard dose 1 capsule 2 times a day (morning and evening, after meals).

Capsules should be swallowed whole without chewing, and washed down with water. The effect of treatment should be expected in 2-4 weeks.

Artrodarin is taken continuously for a long time or in courses of at least 4 months duration.

Side effects

With increased sensitivity to the components of arthrodarin, allergic reactions of varying degrees can be noted.

In the initial period of taking the drug, phenomena from the digestive system may temporarily occur (in this case, the dosage can be reduced to 1 capsule per day): - Diarrhea.

- Nausea and vomiting.

- Stomach pain.

During treatment, intense urine staining from yellow to brown (depending on pH) may occur, which does not require a dose reduction (withdrawal) of the drug.

Drug Interactions

Artrodarin® should not be taken concomitantly with substances affecting the quality of the contents of the intestine and the speed of its emptying (including with a lot of fiber).

Antacids reduce the absorption of the drug.

With simultaneous use with antibiotics or with chemotherapeutic drugs that affect the intestinal microflora, an increase in the frequency of adverse reactions from the intestine is possible.

Overdose

Symptoms: diarrhea, weakness.

Treatment: symptomatic. The patient should be warned about the need to consult a doctor in case of an overdose.
