Pharmacological action
Akriderm GENTA is a combined preparation for external use that has anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic and antibacterial effects.
Betamethasone dipropionate - a glucocorticosteroid, has anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic, anti-exudative, decongestant and antipruritic effect. It inhibits the accumulation of leukocytes, the release of lysosomal enzymes and pro-inflammatory mediators in the focus of inflammation, inhibits phagocytosis, reduces vascular tissue permeability, and prevents the formation of inflammatory edema.
Gentamicin is a broad-spectrum antibiotic from the aminoglycoside group. It has a bactericidal effect against pathogens of primary and secondary bacterial infections of the skin. Active against gram-negative bacteria: Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Aerobacter aerogenes, Escherichia coli, Proteus vulgaris, Klebsiella pneumoniae gram-positive bacteria: Streptococcus spp. (sensitive strains of beta and alpha hemolytic streptococcus group A), Staphytococcus spp. (coagulase-positive, coagulase-negative and some penicillinase producing strains). Inactive against anaerobes, fungi and viruses.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.
Skin tuberculosis, viral skin infections, vaccinations, perioral dermatitis, rosacea (rosacea).
Use during pregnancy and lactation
It is possible if the expected effect of therapy for the mother outweighs the potential risk to the fetus.
Contraindicated in pregnancy in large doses and for a long time.
Breastfeeding should be discontinued during treatment.
Special instructions
The drug is not used in ophthalmology.
Avoid contact with eyes, damaged skin, and open wounds. In order to increase the effectiveness of therapy, the use of occlusive dressings is possible. It should be borne in mind that this increases the transdermal absorption of betamethasone and gentamicin, which leads to an increased risk of developing systemic side effects.
If a stable bacterial or fungal microflora appears, discontinue use of the drug and prescribe appropriate therapy. cross resistance with aminoglycoside antibiotics is possible.
Ingredients
1 gram of cream contains 0, 64 mg betamethasone dipropionate (equivalent to 0.5 mg betamethasone) and gentamicin sulfate - 1 mg.
Dosage and administration
The preparation Akriderm GENTA is applied in a thin layer on the inflamed surface twice a day, gently rubbing. In milder cases, a single use is sufficient. The duration of treatment is determined individually and depends on the nosological form and severity of the disease and is usually 1-2 (rarely 4 weeks).
If you need a long course of therapy, it is recommended that you use the drug less often, for example, every other day.
In the treatment of chronic diseases under the constant supervision of a physician, treatment should be continued for some time after the disappearance of all symptoms in order to avoid relapse of the disease.
The use of the drug in children under 12 years of age is carried out under the supervision of a physician.
Side effects
Burning, dry skin, folliculitis, hypertrichosis, hypopigmentation, allergic contact dermatitis, skin atrophy, striae, prickly heat.
Drug Interactions
Drug interactions with other drugs have not been identified.
Overdose
Acute overdose is unlikely, however, with excessive or prolonged use of the drug is possible chronic overdose, accompanied by signs of hypercorticism: hyperglycemia, glucosuria, reversible oppression of function.
