Pharmacological action of
Baziron AS has high antimicrobial activity against Propionibacterium acnes and Staphylococcus epidermidis, has comedonolytic and anti-inflammatory effects, improves tissue oxygenation, suppresses sebum production in the sebaceous glands, and absorbs excess skin.
Benzoyl peroxide, being a powerful oxidizing agent, has a strong bactericidal effect on microorganisms, while microorganisms are not able to produce strains resistant to benzoyl peroxide.
In an in vivo study, seeding showed that growth inhibition of Propionibacterium acnes by 94% was observed on day 7, and on day 15 by 97-99%.
The anti-inflammatory effect of benzoyl peroxide is based on the inactivation of free radicals in the focus of inflammation and inhibition of free fatty acids.
The basis of the preparation is represented by the acrylate copolymer / glycerin complex, which provides controlled adsorption of excess sebum and the gradual release of glycerin to soften and moisturize the skin.
