DESCRIPTION
Sepranol (Sepranol) - a drug to stimulate the separation of the placenta, prevention and treatment of endometritis in cows. Dosage form: suppositories for intrauterine administration. In appearance, the drug is a flat suppository of light yellow color.
COMPOSITION
Sepranol in 1 suppository (1O g) contains as active ingredients: chlorhexidine hydrochloride - 60 mg and propranolol hydrochloride - 343 mg, as well as auxiliary substances: calcium stearate, sodium carbonate, citric acid, polyethylene glycol, mannitol, polyvinylpyrrolidone, dye (methyl orange ), lactose.
PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES
Pharmacotherapeutic group: antimicrobial agents, beta-blockers.
Chlorhexidine hydrochloride, which is part of the Sepranol preparation, has a wide spectrum of antibacterial action against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria (E. coli, Klebsiella, Salmonella, Shigella and Proteus, Staphylococcus, Streptococcus, Micrococcus, Bacillus, Corynebacterium, Campybacterium) (Trichomonas vaginalis) and fungi (Candida allicans). Chlorhexidine works by destroying the cytoplasmic membrane of the bacterial cell.
Propranolol hydrochloride has a blocking effect on the beta-adrenergic receptors of the uterus, which contributes to the manifestation of endogenous oxytocin activity, as a result of which the contractions of the smooth muscles of the uterus increase.
According to the degree of impact on the body, Sepranol belongs to low-hazard substances (hazard class 4 according to GOST 12.1.007-76).
DOSAGE AND APPLICATION
Sepranol is used in cows to stimulate the separation of the placenta, prevent and treat acute postpartum endometritis and treat endometritis caused by microorganisms sensitive to chlorhexidine hydrochloride.
Before using the drug, the external genital organs and the root of the tail are sanitized.
Sepranol is used intrauterinely in cows in the following single doses: to stimulate the separation of the placenta - 2 suppositories, once; for the prevention of acute postpartum endometritis - 2 suppositories, once, 2-4 hours after the separation of the placenta; for the treatment of acute postpartum endometritis - 2 suppositories, twice with an interval of 24 hours; for the treatment of chronic endometritis - 2 suppositories, three times with an interval of 24 hours.
SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS
In case of an overdose of the drug in an animal, bradycardia, hypotension, shortness of breath, dyspeptic disorders, and itching are possible. In this case, the use of the drug Sepranol is stopped, detoxification and symptomatic therapy is prescribed.
The peculiarities of the action of the drug during the first use and withdrawal were not revealed.
The drug is not used in pregnant cows. There are no restrictions on the use of the drug Sepranol during lactation.
If the next dose is missed, the use of the drug SepranolВ® is resumed in the same dose and according to the same scheme.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
A contraindication to the use of the drug Sepranol is the increased individual sensitivity of the animal to the components of the drug.

Side effects and complications when using the drug Sepranol in accordance with this instruction has not been established.
SHELF LIFE AND STORAGE
The shelf life of the medicinal product, subject to storage conditions in a sealed package, is 18 months from the date of production.
The medicinal product is stored in the manufacturer's closed packaging, separately from food and feed, in a place protected from direct sunlight at a temperature of 5 В° C to 25 В° C.
